Born in Connecticut, Jonathan White received his MFA from the Art Institute of Chicago and is greatly inspired by French Master painting and drawing from the past. He currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY and is surrounded by young artists and designers. This daily Brooklyn life influences his work greatly. His work attempts to playfully harness the metropolitan world around him. The end result is a lively, celebratory portfolio of fashion, food, lifestyle and travel. He loves using traditional mediums such as watercolors, oils, pen & ink and charcoal. He spends most of his time at intimate NYC museums such as The Frick Collection and Neue Galerie. When at home he can be found searching through old art books and auction catalogs for inspiration.
